Our coalition is dedicated to protecting homeowners from losing their homes as a result of PACE, envisioned as an energy-conscious program, but implemented without confirming whether homeowners could afford it.
The path forward for residential clean energy programs should be community-focused, allowing homeowners to continue building equity while lowering their energy output and making the environment safer and healthier for everyone. Clean energy justice means having a healthy market with sound financing alternatives for every homeowner to compare and choose from.
Home ownership is the backbone of families, neighborhoods, and communities, and it is the most pressing problem facing California as millions struggle to find affordable housing across the state. The state cannot afford more unhoused people, it is crucial to find alternatives to keep people safe and in their homes.
